Black Rock Trial Lawyers Files Lawsuit Over Food Truck Dispute in Manatee County

Tampa, FL — November 15, 2025 — Black Rock Trial Lawyers has filed a civil complaint in the County Court of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in and for Manatee County, Florida, on behalf of a local resident, Lolita Rodriguez.

The lawsuit centers on a failed transaction involving a 2020 QLCG food truck, valued at $33,000. According to the complaint, Ms. Rodriguez sold the food truck in June 2023 under an agreement for an initial payment of $5,000, followed by monthly installments of $1,000 until the full purchase price was paid. To date, only $7,000 has been paid, leaving an unpaid balance of $26,000.

The complaint further alleges that after a propane tank explosion damaged the food truck, Ms. Rodriguez paid $5,000 for repairs, which has not been reimbursed. Despite repeated requests, the remaining payments have not been made, and the food truck remains out of Ms. Rodriguez’s possession.

Ms. Rodriguez seeks compensatory damages totaling $31,000, immediate possession of the food truck, and a prejudgment writ of replevin to prevent the disposal or sale of the vehicle. The complaint also references prior allegations against the buyer for failing to provide catering services after accepting deposits.
